CenterSite

Mental Help Net is an established and highly regarded internet website dedicated to educating the public about mental health, wellness, and family and relationship issues and concerns. Designed and maintained by Clinical Psychologists since it first launched in November 1995, the site provides scientifically accurate and up-to-date coverage while maintaining an independent editorial stance. News, articles, reviewed links, interactive tests, book reviews, self-help resources, therapist and job listings and even videos make up the varied content to be found in Mental Help Net's many topic centers. Mental Help Net is the recipient of many awards and citations, including being selected as the 'Forbes Favorite' mental health website.

Mental Help Net is a public service of CenterSite, LLC, an Ohio based provider of high quality, affordable website services to employee assistance programs, substance abuse centers and community mental health centers.

Mission

The Mental Help Net website exists to promote mental health and wellness education and advocacy.

Mental Help Net is guided by the following principles:

  • The services provided by mental health professionals (including all disciplines: psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, LPCs, substance abuse and other counselors, MFTs, etc. and the administrative staff that keeps them functioning) are an important and integral component of the overall health care system, and necessary for the well-being of all people. Accessible mental health care plays an essential and broadening role in American and international society, economy, government, education and many other areas.

  • The usefulness and broad application of online communication technologies have not yet met their potential. There is a need to develop further programs, projects, and applications relevant to mental health professionals to take advantage of these vast untapped potentials.

Based on these principles, Mental Help Net seeks to advance the state of online mental health and wellness communications. More specifically, we seek to accomplish the following:

  • To educate the public about mental health and wellness issues.

  • To catalog, review, and make available to everyone useful online mental health and wellness resources as they become available.

  • To promote active communication and collaboration between professionals in all segments of mental health and wellness services development, implementation and policy, and between professionals and consumers of their services.

  • To advocate for improved access to mental health and wellness services.
