dedicated to educating the public about mental health, wellness, and
family and relationship issues and concerns. Designed and maintained by
Clinical Psychologists since it first launched in November 1995, the
site provides scientifically accurate and up-to-date coverage while
maintaining an independent editorial stance. News, articles, reviewed
links, interactive tests, book reviews, self-help resources, therapist
and job listings and even videos make up the varied content to be found
in Mental Help Net's many topic centers. Mental Help Net is the
recipient of many awards and citations, including being selected as the
'Forbes Favorite' mental health website.
Mental Help Net is a public service of CenterSite, LLC,
an Ohio based provider of high quality, affordable website services to
employee assistance programs, substance abuse centers and community
mental health centers.
The Mental Help Net website exists to promote mental health and wellness education and advocacy.
Mental Help Net is guided by the following principles:
- The services provided by mental health professionals (including all disciplines: psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses,
LPCs, substance abuse and other counselors, MFTs, etc. and the
administrative staff that keeps them functioning) are an important and
integral component of the overall health care system, and necessary for
the well-being of all people. Accessible mental health care plays an
essential and broadening role in American and international society,
economy, government, education and many other areas.
- The usefulness and broad application of online
communication technologies have not yet met their potential. There is a
need to develop further programs, projects, and applications relevant
to mental health professionals to take advantage of these vast untapped
Based on these principles, Mental Help Net seeks to advance the state
of online mental health and wellness communications. More specifically,
we seek to accomplish the following:
- To educate the public about mental health and wellness issues.
- To catalog, review, and make available to everyone useful online mental health and wellness resources as they become available.
- To promote active communication and collaboration between
professionals in all segments of mental health and wellness services
development, implementation and policy, and between professionals and
consumers of their services.
- To advocate for improved access to mental health and wellness services.
